help please

    I posted a while back about a runtime packed system file that my a/v (gladiator antivirus) was finding and warning about, it was shrlk21.dll........I did a reinstall of xp pro and everything was fine until the file came back and i was warned about it again..This time i did a search for the file and did a gutman 35 pass wipe on it...Day after the futhermucker re-appears..how is this poss..am i re downloading it from somewhere..whats the score , is it a bug..did a google and altavista search but couldnt find much,does anyone know anything about it/have any experience of it..cheers..ragman

    If you are using ME or XP turn off system restore > reboot > then AV scan again > remove Trojan/Virus then reboot & activate system restore again.

    System Restore can and does resurrect files so if one was virused and saved in SR then once removed by AV it appears gone until you reboot and SR resurrects the file again!
