Help please

Sometimes when i download files they immediately open into note/wordpad and all this encription comes up (this is very frustrating, especially when i'm excited over the prospect of a new program and WHAM!...unuseable) - how do i prevent this from occuring and USE the actual program i want to download?

 

When the download dialog pops up, are you hitting Open or Save? It doesn't matter, I know... both should execute the setup file, but have you tried both ways (opening & saving)? You've got a unique problem... I can honestly say I've never heard of anyone else with anything like it. You could check your file associations, but somehow, I doubt that's the problem.
