I am a retard. I can't figure out my C++ homework. Is there anyone that I can send my .cpp files too, and maybe they can tell me what the heck I am doing wrong. It is a program with an array. I imagine it is easy for most people but i am a retard.
    Thanks

Just tell us a little more on what your homework is and maybe we can help you. That way we can get a feel for what we are trying to figure out here :) You are welcome to attach your .cpp files if you would, I would take a look at them for you.

    That would be great.

Here is the description of the homework problem:

    Description
Write a program to manage a list of loans. Get a list of loans from the user and calculate the monthly amounts for each loan. The user will select a loan type and input loan amount, annual interest rate, and the term of the loan in months. Calculate the monthly payment for each loan. Sort the loan information in descending order of monthly payment. Print the loan information in descending order of monthly payment. Next print the totals for each column. Then print the average for each column. You will need to create three additional functions to add to the functions from your previous lab.

    CalcTotal.cpp
Write a function called calcTotal that will calculate the total of a list of values.

    Arguments

double [] -A list of values to total.
int - The number of values.

    Return Value

double -The total of the values.

    CalcAverage.cpp
Write a function called calcAverage that will calculate the average of a list of values.

    Arguments

double [] -A list of values to average.
    int -The number of values.

    Return Value
double -The average of the values.

    SortIndex.cpp
Write a function called sortIndex that will sort a list of indexes based on a list of values.

    Arguments
int[] -A list of indexes that will be sorted with the sort values.
double [] -the list of values to sort.
    int -the number of values.
int -sort type( 1- ascending, 2-desending)

    Return Value
void -The average of the values.

    main

Write a main function to test your functions. It will display options for loan type. (1- for installment loan, 2. for fixed rate loan). It will get loan amount, annual interest rate in whole percentage, and the term of the loan in months. It will invoke the functions necessary to calculate the appropriate values, store them in arrays, and sort the data. Allow for up to 25 loans.
It will then print information below:

( This is suppose to look more like an organized flow chart)

Loan Type Amount Rate Months Payment

    2 Install 775.00 15% 24 56.65

    1 Fixed 1000.00 12% 18 47.07

    etc.…..
    etc….
    etc…..

    Total: $1775.00 $103.72
    Average: $887.50 $53.86

I am having problems setting up the array to accept the user inputs. I have attached my .cpp files. The sortIndex function we worked on in class, but I don't think my instructor wrote it write. I don't know I am just totally lost. The program is pretty rough, I don't have all the comments in it yet. I have just been trying to get it to output the information.
Hope this all makes since. If any one has questions let me know.

yeah, if anything u should have or start working on is enthusiasm. Dont' be so hard on yourself like glenn said. Afterall this is a tech SUPPORT forum, not a Tech Flame forum. almost 99% of the people signed up here came here because they had a question of smoe sort, and ended up liking the site because they helped them. I said this before to someone else.....

THe one that doesn't ask a question is a fool forever,
but the one who does is a fool for 5 minutes.

The only way we all learn is by asking questions, so don't make it hard on yourself to do so. Everyone's welcome here lol. I mean its not like if you ask a stupid question, its viruses or spyware for you! :p :) u know? so feel free to ask away.

As for help, Glenn's guide on his server is very good, so check that out. it may help you with other questions that you have too!

Thanks for the tutorials. I a mnot being that hard on myself, I just kidding around. It just making me made that I can't figure these arrays out and make them work in my program. When I tried to get help from the instructor he was a real jerk, so I'm pretty much tring to do it on my own.
    Thanks again for the info.
