Help Please

My computer started developing problems (specifically internet related). I have run Spybot v1.3, adaware, norton antivirus and repaired Internet Explorer - all to no avail. I'm running Windows 98 and Internet Explorer v6. My problem is I cannot connect to the internet ( I have a DSL connection). Also, when I open my browser I get a illegal operation window that opens and states the following:
"Rundll32. This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." The details tab says the following:
"Rundll32 caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll @ 0177:6ff7b997."

Then I get a message "Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This occurs repeatedly - it keeps opening and closing with this message and I can go no further. I then get an illegal operation caused by IExplore...etc. etc.

Any and all healp will be greatly appreciated.

those will get you started

anything you have or download make sure they are up to date

make sure you follow them very closley
make sure that when you are requested for a HJT log
you know how to do it properly( see above link)
