Help Please!

My computer has a problem. It is a Dell Dimension 4600 running on Windows XP home edition. Whenever I try to open a program, it pops up, then disapears a millisecond later. Does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?

 

sounds like spyware to me download adaware personal se and spybot 1.3 and run them .

Does the computer seem to behave normally in other respects? For example, can you go to control panel and check things? Can you use Windows Explorer to look at your drive contents?

Try to start any program and then do a Ctrl - Alt - Del. Select the Applications tab and see if that or any other program is running.

If you happen to have SpyBot installed on your computer, try running it in the normal mode. If it also drops out or quits, then restart the computer in the "Safe Mode". Try to run the program again. Not all programs will run in safe mode but SpyBot does.
