help please...

Hey all,

I'm not a wiz, but I know my way around a computer. However, something has been happening that I can't figure out. Without any notice, a blue screen with a lot of writing will pop up (too fast to read it though) and the computer will restart. When I send an error report to windows, they mention that it probably has to do with a faulty driver. However, through all of my snooping, I cannot find any drivers that have a problem. I haven't installed any new hardware in a while anyways. I have thoroughly checked for viruses, malware, registry problems, etc. but I can't figure it out.

Oh, one more thing. I was cleaning my drive (temp files, compressing files, etc.) and a window came up saying that it deleted files that were necessary for the system stability, and that I needed to put in the windows CD-ROM to fix the problem. however, I got my computer from ebay and never got that CD-ROM. Is it likely that this is the problem? And if it is, is there any way to get the cd-rom without buying windows again?

Next time you are able to boot into the OS, go into Control Panel, System, and then in the Advanced tab in System, click on the button for "Startup & Recovery", and in there uncheck "Automatically Restart", and that should stop the auto rebooting after the error.

Also, the minidump would have the info. Check Administrative Tools "Event Viewer", and it would tell also possibly what the error may be.
