Help Pls re Graphics Card Laptop Decision

Hi Guys

I am looking to be able to play the game 'Second Life' (I know it's not for everyone but my mate overseas wants me to join and have a go). My old laptop is too old to play it.

I have done a 'Speccy' on my husbands computer to see if it has a good enough graphics card, pls see the following:

These are my questions:
1. Does my husband's computer have enough 'graphics card abilitiy' to be able to play the game? If yes, would that be to be able play well, or just scraping by? As he has mentioned that we could swop laptops.
2. If the answer to the above question is no, then there might be some leverage for me to build a case to allow me to upgrade my old laptop!! Catch my drift?

Well, swopping them over, an easy task. N O T !!!!!!

I have been working on it all day. It's not just about swopping data (even that is still chugging away in the background), it is making his Favs, preferences, tabs blah blah as he had on his original laptop and visa versa as our computers are completely different content-wise if you know what I mean. It's taking forever.:cry. I'll prob be up all night

BUT on the bright-side, thanks for your tip re Second Life and the link to see if you have enough gumption, his laptop registers between minimum and recommended/ideal, so thats looking good so far He prob wont want me going on it now LOL

However, as I am in charge of photos, videos, TV, graphic editing, movies, downloads etc and he just uses emails and a little surfing I was well in need for his much greater hard disk space, so all good!

I know you have told me before, but I am in Queensland, Australia, where are you in those terms?

I think I know the answers to these questions.

If it is my graphics card that (re Second Life) is mid-way between minimum - recommended, that means that the game will just run slower, right? Will other aspects be affected?

Also, if you want a better graphics card there is no way round it other than buying a new laptop, you cant buy an add-on card or anything, right?

After successfully swopping laptops to get a better spec, the one my hubbie now has will not wirelessly connect to the internet. I'm gona have to start another thread.

A person named cipher really helped me out re my DVD drive not working, it now is thanks to them

My hubbie is threatening to take his laptop back if I dont sort out his internet , however this is his birthday weekend, so I am gona keep him well beveraged up at least til Monday to give me some time LOL

What did you think of Second Life? I am still to have a proper look yet. I suspect they give slightly poorer marks, just to get people to upgrade Yeh I bet! Ive never played any games online yet, I can imagine there are heaps out there.

Once I get sorted I'll have a look at Crysis2. I'm having a bit of a 'crysis' with my laptops LOL

Most average laptops get too hot to play it. What does that mean?

Yes, BIG PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the router needing to be reset, so I am keeping the big laptop for now
