I downloaded CrapCleaner and other programs as suggested by administrator. When I try to open or scan, I get the error message 'Program Not Found' with "Cannot find file C:\Program.exe". I am trying to scan and clean my system (98se, Athlon 1400, 256 mb, 40G HD plus 6G HD). I have something called wsup and wtoolsa that redirects/hijacks my browser.
Also, I cannot run the Trend virusscan because "ActiveUpdate did not update successfully" with error code 28 and error string: generic source network failure.
I connect with RoadRunner, and run EZ Trust Antivirus and Firewall.
My daughter downloaded Kazaa about two weeks ago (I have since deleted) and the trouble began. Thanks for any help on how I can run the various scans. Oh yeah, I can't get AdAware SE Personal to run either.

    How did you remove Kazaa?

It's almost impossible to remove it all manually, and the best tools are KazaaBeGone, available from HERE, and Kazaa Spyware Removal available from HERE.

Have you tried an online virus scanner?

    Forgot to add,

HiJack This will remove "wsup" and "wtoolsa".

Also, HERE are the Symantec removal instructions.

    Good luck.

I've tried to access online scans but something keeps them from either fully running or from connecting. I did run RAVantintivirus, and it found two virii: HTML\DialogArg.B* and something in WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SexyLolitas-uninstall.exe
I don't know how to remove them.
I downloaded some programs as suggested by the Administrator in the tutorial section of Majorgeeks, and saved them to a file on my harddrive. One was CrapCleaner, I believe. When I try to open it, I get a pop-up box with the error message "Program Not Found", and the statement "Cannot find file C:\Program.exe". What is this, and how can I get the virusscan and clean programs to run?
Thanks for the help. And try to keep instructions on an "easy to medium" level.
P.S. I think I have already downloaded HijackThis program, but don't know what to do with it.

I've supplied the following links in case the above was not suitable.

A lot of this information is supplied on this site, and that should be your first guide, but you need to follow every step and not miss any or you will just be chasing your tail.

HERE and HERE are step by step removal instructions.

Please note that if you have System Restore, you need to temporarily disable it in case the scumware is present there.

Once you successfully remove the Spy/Adware, you need to re-enable System Restore.
