Everything on my computer seems to crash randomly. IE, Firefox, and MSN Messenger frequently get the Error Report message (Send, Dont Send). And games (Starcraft, Diablo2, Counter Strike, all just randomly close ! I have tried everything, I even reformatted ! Heres my specs (i no, it sucks !)

    P3 500MHz
    256MB RAM
    Radeon 9000 Pro
    10GB Hardrive
    Windows XP Professional
Compaq motherboard (not sure of the exact model, ask if you need it)

If you need anymore information just say so ! Thanks.

Okay here is my question for you...

Do you have Compaq software running on your computer?

Have you upgraded to service pack 2?

Do you have a virus scan/ad aware?

Have you tried running a scan disc or running a defragmenter?

To start things off here, try this:

Start, settings, control panel, system, click on the advanced tab, then the error reporting tab. Check the top 2 boxes, disable error reporting and but notify me if critical errors occur.

I do not know if this has anything to do with what you are experiencing or not but one program (Digital Image Suite 9) on my computer kept crashing and causing my computer to reboot. I am running WinXP SP2 and also have 2005 version of Norton Personal Firewall and System Works installed. A week later I installed the Norton Go Back that came with my System Works.
I could not find a solution anywhere on the net or even a hint as to what might be causing the problem. So, I called Microsoft Tech Support and found out that my Norton Go Back was creating a conflict with my Digital Image Suite9. So, its possibl if you have Norton Go Back installed then it could be creating a conflict with your programs that are crashing.
Don't know if this will help or not but just thought I would share what happened with me.
