Help, removed processer chip from dell 5100 and now when it boots it says that i had a heating error and to press f1 to conitune or f2 to go to the boot menu. but after about 15 seconds after booting, the fans go on high and then the system shuts down. when i feel the chip it is scholrling hot. sorry for the spelling mistakes but i am in a panic

    You removed the CPU?
When you reinstalled it you did clean off the old thermal pad/paste material and then reapplied new?

I would suggest removing the HSF & reapply thermal material, maybe didnt get it seated properly the last time

Hopefully you havent already dammaged the CPU.

    Bad spelling:)
