   Can anyone help me with how to replace this file.
   I have a second computer just like the one messed up.
   Both IBM T60 mine is fine hubby's has winsock provider catalog issues that wont allow internet connection.
   I went to use system restore to fix, but it was turned off.
   Hubby would not know where to find it to turn it off.
   
   help!!

   Is this a typo? The file relating to your issue would be tcpip.sys, sort of an important thing to be sure you have the right file name Im not sure how to help you here, if it is the same problem, can't you replace the file again? I am concerned why your tcpip.sys is corrupted on two computers, I hope you have anti-virus installed?
