Hello i've just moved into my big new room :D and i want to upgrade my speakers.

I'm not really sure if surround sound is worth it though as i dont watch too many movies but i do play alot of games, do games support surround sound?

I'm jus wondering what speakers would be best for me out there, i would ike speakers suitable for gaming so i can hear footsteps (people coming!!) without having to use my earphones!

I have Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic soundcard

    I've spotted these so far

You're paying for looks with those, not quality.

They give an RMS output power of 43Watts.
You can get something better and cheaper that will produce more power - I just bought some Logitech X-530's and they produce 70Watts of RMS power

With regard to games, the majority of games produced now offer 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound performance which works very well.

Some bedtime reading for you :p

Look at the diagram, how the sound is spread evenly - I've just tested it now on full and the sound spreads evenly throughout my room, which is 13' x 13' so it works pretty well.

Also, the sub isn't as heavy as some, has good air intake to keep cool, and can be altered to produce the amount of bass that you want. Very easy to set up, brilliant, just buy them!

Red crosses mark where I'd put them. The one near the bed might not stretch that far, but as close to that as you could.

Well, you could mount it on the wall in line with the one on the window, or put the one on the window further away.

The good thing about these speakers is that they can be mounted on the wall.
