Help setting a password for my router

Hey, I'll get straight to the point. I have a belkin router, and windows vista. I think some people have been stealing my internet, and I wanna put an end to it. How do i set it so when people try to use my wifi, they have to enter a password?

First, what is the model and version of your router? We can link you to the manual which will give the correct procedures to do several things.
1) Change the default log in name and password to the router itself.
2) Change the default SSID (wireless network identifier).
3) Add an encryption level (such as WPA2) which will require a network password or key to access the connection.
4) Add MAC filtering (or physical address) that allows only specific computers to access the router.
Doing those steps would give you a pretty secure set up for wireless connections.

1. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the router.
2. Open a web browser on the computer.
3. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1
4. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit, or enter the password that you gave it when you set it up.

Now you need to follow the steps that lbmest instructed you to do.
