Help Setting Up Wireless Network

I did a reinstall of my desktop computer due to malware issues. And of course I have to reconfigure my network. My knowledge of networking is basic, as a result I had a few questions.

The router in question is a Linksys WRT54G. My specific question relates to initial setup; does the router store previous setup info? On Linksys' website help it stated to run the setup program or something like that to clear/reset the hardware. As I am having problems setting up the router, I wanted to know for sure if I needed o reset the hardware somehow. Does that need to be done?

I don't remember having this much trouble the last time I set the network up. I am sure I will be back with more questions after someone helps (hopefully!). So, thanks for any help!

 

Your router has the information from your previous set up stored and the best thing now is to put the linkseys disk in and connect the pc with an Ethernet cable to begin the set up again.
