help sp2 problem

i am trying to install sp2 but i get an error cannot copy file atapi.sys select correct location or insert xp istall cd. i do all this and the file is there but it still wont copy the file. the file is in c:\windows\system32\drivers it is there but wont copy it WHY!!!!

thanks for the quick reply. i have folled the steps set out by microsoft i even cleaned the registry with regsupreme and rebooted. on retrying to installed sp2 i get the same error. i did have alchol installed but i uninstalled it and the same problem exists

 

you have to run the system file checker first before you can proceed.
start...run.. type cmd hit enter

at the prompt type
sfc /scannow hit enter

at this time you shoul have your winxp cd in the drive.

After this completes. then try SP2.
NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL 120% after SP2 is installed.

 

i have uninstalled alchol120 but my virtual drives are still there. how do i delete them?

why as i have my games in iso form?
