Help the Retard..... :)

Ok, here we go. I decided to get rid of some icons on my desktop. Not a good idea. I deleted the blue e. Now, I can not get to the properties window to delete temp files and clear the history. I am using XP. I tried to reinstall IE but I can not get it to work. Another problem I am having is when I do click on IE from the program menu, it comes up on hsremove.com...... I am so frustrated.......rrrrrrrr

Any Ideas?

Download and update spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html) and run it. Delete anything it finds that you haven't installed yourself.

Next go into program files and find internet explorer. Right click it and create a shortcut. Place the shortcut on the desktop.

Let me know how you get on.

 

OR....

Rightclick on the desktop, select properties, select the Desktop Tab, click the button (near the bottom) "Customize Desktop", then make sure that "Internet Explorer" is checked. Press OK, then, OK again. IE should now appear on your desktop.

 

I suggest you go to the Spyware Section and follow their recommendations as you could be infected.

 

hsremove.com is automatically set as your homepage whenever you run HSremove, which is an anti Homesearch removal tool.

Still, what Insomniac suggested, is a wise move, so follow:

NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

and

READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

and post in: Spyware Specific

Just to be on the safe side, that you are indeed malware free.

 

Thanks ya'll I got the "e" back on the desktop. But when I run, spybot it says something like web back lite is on my machine, then it gives some message saying that some part of it is in the memory.

Oh, and btw, I have a friend who comes here but will not ask for help because they do not want to seem desperate. I would be desperate if Major Geek was not around. Ya'll are the best.
