Help to find out how to fix a ybrowser.exe problem

Hello everyone and thanks in advance to any help you can give me on this one..

This is not spyware or virus related it has something to do with the ybrowser.exe and I am not sure where to look at to fix the problem as I haved googled for it and I have checked the Microsoft Knowledge Base and the posts in here but nothing for this problem.

I am trying to help out a friend with her computer she uses SBC Yahoo! Browser (which I know is the ybrowser) so when she searches the Net she is using that browser and she also uses the sidebar feature for Yahoo IM so when she is in IM her browser is still open and behind the IM screen. Well whats happening is that while in IM it will freeze up on her give her a pop up saying something to the effect of "microsoft visual ctt runtime library buffer overrun detected program;c;/programfiles/yahoo/browser/ybrowser.exe" there is more to that but she only gave me that much as the rest is garbly gook from what I understand from her. Anyhow once IM freezes up she can't do anything and has to reboot the computer.

Where do I begin to look at to solve this problem?? She uses Windows XP (I can't remember if its Home or Pro edition) and currently SP1 but I will be installing SP2 on her computer today. Which leads me to another question will the installation of SP2 possibly take care of the above mentioned problem??

Ohhhhh...these errors are NO fun...
I would suggest trying to un/reinstall ybrowser and YIM, to see if that helped, but this sounds more like a coding problem with these apps... you might try searching FAQs, or support pages at yahoo, and see if anyone else has been able to resolve the problem.

As for SP2, it probably won't correct the issue.
