Hi everyone I play a game called warcraft 3 and there is a new patch, i can't seem to be able to get onto the site to download it or patch it through the game... the site hasn't been working for a while now and i didnt mind as i did not need 2 log onto it but now i do... it keeps saying this

    The connection has timed out

The server at www.battle.net is taking too long to respond.

    * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

    Please help :)

Blizzard's site has been pretty slow lately. Could have something to do with Diablo III... :-D

    Try it a little later.

It sounds like the site is being blocked, either by your firewall or your router. You could check in those for a mention of the battle.net or blizzard site. Failing that check that Firefox isn't using a proxy that its not meant to in Preferences > Advanced > Networking > Settings. Direct connection is the most common setting, but not always. The other thing to look into the DNS Servers you have listed under your networking preferences. It could be that you are using a custom DNS Server and getting one from that is managed by your ISP could solve the resolving issue. Also check that your ISP hasn't mentioned blocking the site in their FAQ/Support Forum.

If you can get other sites it could be that http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21275&rhtml=true can help.
