Can you help me rid this computer of the infection you will see in my logs.

Unfortunately, I ran the Adware Cleaner last. I am sorry for this mistake. I'm getting old and its getting past my bedtime.

Can you review my logs and give me some direction on how to remove the infection?

    Thank you!

Your Malwarebytes logs does not show that you fixed what it found. Please run it again and this time fix what it finds. Save a new log after you fix. Please attach the new log.

Then run RogueKiller again and have it fix the below item if it is still present:
    ¤¤¤ Files : 1 ¤¤¤
    [Tr.Kovter][File] C:\Users\HP\AppData\Local\43b7e5\f5178d.fd567f4 -> Found

    Then reboot your PC.

After reboot run a new scan with RogueKiller and attach the new log.

    How is your PC running?

    You're welcome.

Your logs are clean. Please complete all of the below final instructions before running any other scans to avoid false detections of things we have already quarantined or left overs from system restore.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    3. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your Windows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • For Windows 8 and 8.1 system restore see this link: Win 8 System Restore - How to enable/disable
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

I'm sorry. Can you instruct me on how to hide "thumbs.ini" "desktop.ini" files that are showing on my desktop? I cannot remember how?

You're welcome. Did you complete the final instructions? Step 3 should have set these to hidden.

I did complete Step 3, but I had to install MGTools on my desktop originally instead of in C drive? Could this be the issue?

No. Your Desktop is actually on drive C. Perhaps something just interfered with the operation of MGcleanup.txt My guess would be McAfee caused a problem with proper execution.

Is the C:\MGtools folder gone and is the MGtools.exe file now gone from your Desktop?

Yes, the MGtools files are all gone

Okay then if the Windows system files ( like desktop.ini ) are still showing, try the below steps to hide them again.

Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders in Windows 10
    • Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
    • Click the View tab.
    • Under Advanced settings, make sure that under Hidden files and folders make sure that Do not show hidden files and folders is selected
    • Also make sure further down that Hide protected operating system files is selected.
    • Then click OK.
