...is constantly trying to access the internet.

COMODO Firewall lists security risk as unknown. But on summary page calls is a high severity. Description is Support.com Scheduler and Command from SupportSoft Inc.and appearts to be linked to my Comcast broadband. Info I've found on the net seems to be conflicting, so came here for the "real" deal.

Of course the message is scary because it always says something along the lines that keyloggers can attach to this file etc. etc.

Denied access earlier today and could not connect to internet until after using ccleaner.

Yup, I'm confuzzled. Is this file a security risk or not? Under what circumstances, and how do I tell?:confused

    Thanks for the replies.

These two articles are perfect examples of why this confuses me. Article one Its considered a tracker but... I have no Comcast Support in ad/remove although I did remove the Comcast toolbar because I don't use any other than Google.

The 2nd article refers to the user having to decide and SOME consider it spyware because it tracks usage. If I decide to disable or delete it and it turns out to be an integral part of my broadband would I simply have to reinstall the Comcast Software to fix it?

My guess would be yes .....not familiar with comcast ....Bleeping computer is well respected and as stated other places ...use a startup manager to stop it from running at startup.

I have Comcast and have none of the software installed. You can use the broadband without installing any software - you just have to set your browser if you prefer to start at the Comcast page; I prefer to start elsewhere.
