Help: uninstall Yahoo junk: not healthy

a client has Yahoo "Installer" and other yahoo tools downloaded and running, presumably. The "Uninstall" function under Windows ME [at most current rev] will not uninstall, and even the provided "uninstall" script in the 'daddy' part of the package will not function. How do I uninstall this mess. It is crippled and causing trouble anytime the client is logged into Yahoo. What "cleanup" package can I download that allows me to select certain packages for wipeout?

i'm assuming you also mean the 'Add/remove programs" doesnt work?

you can manually delete the folders that contain the yahoo things, and then delete the registry keys... but that could be messy.

you can also try installing the program again over the old one, to fix the uninstaller--then removing it

 

yipes. I was hoping for a cleaner way. That Yahoo junkload has caused a lot of havoc. I guess I'm going to have to take the registry cleanup way.
Is there no all-purpose de-installer that lets one menu-select what to take out?

and of course you are right, in that the windows-based utility simply fails. nothing at all happens.

you can try RegSupreme Pro, available here at MG. It has an "installed software" section which has removal features--which may be perfect for what you need to do.

there may be others, but this is the only one I can back up from personal experience.
