help uninstalling sophos

    I deleted sophos a while back and need to install my new ez armor. I did the uninstall on sophos and it says its gone but when i try install new it says sophos still exists. any thoughts? i really need some anti-virus some i am desperate. - lol - also, the registry entries are there for sophos as well as the folders. it is in my add/remove program set but when i try that it says "unable to find setup info"

    Okay, try deleting the folders and then, if you're comfortable working in the registry, delete the references to 'sophos.' Then return to the add\remove programs and try and click on the uninstall there. You should get a message similar to 'there was an error in uninstalling this program, would you like to remove it from the add\remove menu?' Click yes and you should be okay. That message won't be word-for-word, but it's close!! Alot of programs, when deleted through the add\remove box, don't take all their 'junk' with them when they are deleted and I'd recommend a good cleaner, like "CCleaner" or "RegCleaner." There are alot of good, free registry cleaners out there and most of them can be found right here at MG. Take a look;
