HELP!!w/The system has recovered from a serious error

First off I am running Windows XP home edition pentium 4, 2.4 ghz, with
512mb ram.

Some times when I am just doing random things on my computer (ie: surfing the web. burning cd's, or playing games) my cpu will suddenly reboot itself as if I hit the reset button.

When I log back on to XP it says"The system has recovered from a serious error.)

Error signature:

I am of course a noob and have no idea what any of this means that is why I come to kneel at the feet of the great geeks and ask for their salvation. Anyone that can possibly help I will greatly appreciate your insight.

 

Please see the post I made in this thread. Also, please do not post the same problem twice. If your problem doesn't fit in a particular forum, you will be referred to another for assistance. (ie. the malware forum is full of spyware and virus experts.)

 

sorry for the double post...I am aware of my mistake, but I posted in hardware first only to quickly realize that I should have posted the problem under software.....thanks again for your insight and I will check and see any of your suggestions pan out.
