Actually when my get idled, there's still connection but my download just "died" but when i open up my browser then go to a website, the connection is "alive".

My initial solution is using the PING command (ping www.google.com -t)

The question is is there some other way beside using the ping to prevent my connection getting "cold".

I'm not sure if this will solve the problem but it may.

Go to the network device your connecting with in the device manager and select the Power Management tab and uncheck the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

    Post back if it works.

I'm sorry man, I shouldn't used the term "idled", what I mean was If I left my computer not doing anything like browsing, my download manager and my online game experience connection loss, but if i do the command "PING www.google.com -t" my connection doesn't die.

I understood what you were saying. For some reason your computer is stopping the NIC when the browser stops so disabling the sleep mode in the driver may help.

Unfortunately both suggestion didn't resolve my issue. Further help is appreciated.
