Help! Windows 7 Black Screen

    Hi everyone.

    For some reason, when I restarted my computer this morning, I logged on and got a completely black screen with no taskbar/start button, no icons, and only the My Computer window showing.

    I can browse my HDDs, start programs, access the internet (obviously), but my wallpaper, icons, and taskbar never appear.

    I tried the prevx fix, I tried changing the registry value myself, to no avail.

    I've also run AVG and Malwarebytes, and neither found or fixed anything.

    Is there anyone out there that can help me? I'm starting to get aggravated.

    Hi

    Can you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking)? does your screen look as normal now, albiet it will not be in high res as the basic VGA driver is being used, but this is to just see if we have a major issue or a not so major one.

    Yeah, I've tried Safe Mode too, forgot to mention that. Still the same issue.
