Help!!!!!!! Windows Me Freezes

HELP!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO STOP MY "IBM COMPUTER WITH "WINDOWS ME" FROM FREEZING. THIS EVEN GOES AS FAR AS UNISTALLING WINDOWS AND THEN REINSTALLING....NOW, I WAS JUST TOLD IT COULD BE A BAD "FAN" GETTING TO "HOT".
HELP!!!!!!!!! HOW DO I CHECK FOR A "HOT FAN" OR A "BAD FAN"????? UPSET & CONFUSED WITH THIS ANNOYING PROBLEM.

FYI guys, 3 of you hollering at a new member about using caps or the font color is easily as rude, if not more so, use some etiqutte yourselves.

 

Well one thing you can do is leave the capitals out when posting a message.

Now how about starting over when did your problem start.

 

Thank you, I have or had NO idea colors would upset someone...so I've changed color, font, and have calmed down (not really upset----just tried everything I have been told to try--with no results),
This problem started awhile ago (can't put my finger on when or what or who it first happened to--me--my hubby or our son). My husband only uses the computer to play "spades" my son only goes on "Ebay" and I use it to do whatever---internet serches, banking, bill paying, etc. No on goes into things they don't know what they are for...I am the only one that downloads and I am VERY careful when do so.
We have 2 computers and we are using the Compaq (very slow) right now. I tried using the
IBM today and got locked after being on 20 mins. There is no pattern to how long you can stay on before it locks up (then you MUST turn it off----WILL NOT allow me to reboot). I usually unplug and wait a couple minutes before plugging it back in.
I really wish I could get it solved...it's a much faster computer.
