I recently installed a wireless adapter in my Pentium 4 1.8Ghz 512MB RAM PC running Win XP SP2 and the driver was unsigned, and I've had nothing but problems since.... I've tried the Winsock Fix, no dice..

It seems that any time I try to send/receive files via the internet my PC crashes, either by freezing, or losing my connection.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the driver/adapter... again no change.

It is especially bad when using BitTorrent Clients...

if I restart the PC when it freezes, it does not boot correctly and I am forced to restart again and go to the last known good configuration and reinstall the driver for the adapter.
This takes place about 20 times a day!!

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!!

 Hi. Can you give more info on the wireless adapter?

It could be that the WLAN card is bad. Even brand new stuff can occasionally be DOA.

The Adapter is a Dynex Wireless G.

At this point I'm ready to reformat and start from scratch... I'm pretty sure it's a virus or some sort of malware because any time I bring up programs that could potentially find and fix the problem, the PC freezes.
