Help with AIM

Hello, I need some help with AIM. For the past couple months, out of nowhere as far as I'm concerned, my AIM has been wierd. When I IM someone or they IM me, it is slow. When I send a message and hit enter, it takes a few seconds to send, like it freezes up for a few seconds every time. As far as I'm concerned, when they IM me back it's fine. If I direct connect with the person, it is better, more like normal, but it still slips up sometimes. It also sometimes makes all my AIM windows look like they are not responding, and sometimes even says not responding at the top and it all kind of freezes up, then it's back to normal. I need some help, I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, I've restarted my computer on several accounts, and I don't know what to do now. Thanks.

 

Are you using the most up-to-date version of AIM? How do you connect to the Internet? Are there any applications using your bandwidth (like P2P filesharing programs)?

 

What happens if you use the Java-based AIM Express?

 

You could switch over to Trillion, it uses less resources and you can IM someone on AOL IM, Yahoo, ICQ, & MSN, all atthe same time.

 

Trillian is great. but the only problem with it was I could not send or recive pictures
