Hello, and thanks again for being here. I really appreciate the service you offer!

I got struck by FBI Moneypak yesterday. I was able to boot in safe mode and I downloaded and ran the Emsisoft Emergency Kit. It didn't find anything, but I know that was wrong, because I had the big "FBI graphic saying I have to pay $200 to get my computer unlocked".

Anyway, while Emsisoft was running, I did a little reading (on another computer) about the virus and the files it drops on your computer. After the scan, I went into msconfig and was able to disable a suspicious startup item, and I also went into my user account folder and found a couple definitely suspicious .exe files that I deleted. After that, I was able to boot back up in regular mode and things seem to be working. But I thought I would go thru your "READ AND RUN ME FIRST" procedure, just to make sure there were no stragglers left behind. This is a work computer and I do a lot of online purchases, taxes and banking.

I ran all the scans and the Rogue Killer was the only one that found anything. I have attached all logs.

This is a Windows 7 pc, 64bit, running Trend Micro Online Security and a paid subscription of Malwarebytes. (the malwarebytes is new...after the infection), but Trend Micro was running yesterday and didn't catch the Moneypak.

I appreciate any advice/information you can give me on how to get rid of the stuff Rogue Killer found (if necessary).

    Thanks in advance!
    Diane

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 4 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link
Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
