    Long story short:

I am seeing a girl that asked me to look at her computer (note: I am NOT a computer savvy guy) because she was having trouble getting online.

Everytime she logged onto AOL and entered a web address, she was automatically re-directed to a search engine. From there, regardless of what she entered, it kept taking her back to the same page.

I installed & ran the 2004 version of Norton Systemworks and scanned her machine for viruses. It found 3.

After a little discovery work (like I said I am not savvy), I found that her former boyfriend had an affinity to adult websites (a whole other story). Needless to say, I think that's where this virus came from.

Anyway, While the Norton Anti-Virus program was able to detect the virus, it was unable to delete them. It kept telling me the deletion had failed.

    What do I do now?

    Sorry,
I just read the FAQ, will try those steps and see where I get.

    Thanks!

The basic spyware and virus removal tool should cover you, but you may have Home Search Assistant, check Chaslangs tutorial on that and get back to us with specific symptoms so we can fix this in as few steps as possible :)
