Help with Dell

I'm trying to get a Dell Inspiration E1505 display to work. Here is the deal...it works fine with an external monitor but the laptop screen is blank but has a narrow green vertical line running on the right side of the screen from the time I turn it on. Here is my question, do you Major Geeks think it is the inverter or do I need to replace the LCD. The owner said that the display got smaller and then just went out.

May even be just a loose connection.

I do suggest you get the model name correct when searching for information.

It is an Inspiron.
