Help with disk error 'Event 11' please!

Hi, My mum's computer wouldn't startup this morning so I had a look at it. It keep rebooting and won't boot into safe mode, then after about the tenth time of trying it booted fine. Looking in the Event Viewer she had a Disk Error:
'The Driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D', Event 11. The link provided dosn't give any information. Looking down the list of system events, the computer has been having the same Event 11 disk error everyday since the beginning of December on both Harddisk1 and Hardisk0. I haven't noticed any problems with the computer, today is the first real problem she's had with it, both harddisks have been working fine.

So what does this error mean and how do I fix it?

Please note I'm just regurgitating information I found via google. You didnt' say if you have windows xp or 2000, but here are a couple things I found.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I'm running XP Pro. I checked out the link you posted but I couldn't find any help there really. It seems more to do with SCSI controllers. Looking at the event viewer I missed another less frequent error, this errors occurs once each time the computer boots up while the disk error occurs 6 times everytime it boots up. This error is:
Source:atapi, event ID: 5, 'A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0.

Weird. When I search those two errors together, I come up with over a dozen hits for Windows 2000, but not a single one for Windows XP. I wish I could be of more help, but it looks like we'll have to wait for someone with more knowledge of these errors than what google can provide.

 

Nine times out of ten...what they say about 2000 goes for XP too.

XP is just a glorified, more user friendly version of 2000...to say it in dumbed down terms.
