I have the same problem. this is a new build. however I do not understand the solution. I also get prompted to login and the log-in anonymously does not work. the next post says to right click the zip file at the ftp site, but i never saw the solution to th log-in. also the ultimate problem is that the ethernet hardware is not found. I did not get a disk with this mb. any help?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi

Moved your post form that older thread and do you have the same PC as that user in a eMachine W3107?

What Windows version are you using?

In Device Manager what items are flagged with a yellow ! mark?

Likely if the ethernet is missing on that model is that the chipset driver is not installed download from HERE and unzip and install, then reboot. (note this is only a Windows XP driver so if you have another version of Windows, do please inform us of this)

Thanks for the quick reply Halo!
This is a new build. My Windows XP disk is from about 2004, so everytime I have to rebuild, I need to get SP2 or sp3, but it still works ok. There are no yellow ! marks. However, I do not see the ethernet connection in the list; it is not being detected I can't remember what it should be but isn't it like IEEE 1394?
I am downloading the file from your link now

Bad News, As I was downloading the sp2 package, my computer locked up. now it won't boot up. it gets as far as: press any key to boot from CD . . .
then nothing... OR if I change the first boot device to Harddrive, it says verifying DMI pool. then nothing. Is this repairable?

    Hi

Pop out the motherboard battery for 10mins and then pop it back in as this should hopefully reset the BIOS, then make sure your 1st boot device is still the main HDD and save and exit.
