Help with favorites (shortcuts to documents)

Hi Guys

At work I have to access about 50 billion spreadsheets a day that are all over the shop in different folders within folders within folders etc NIGHTMARE...

So I set shortcuts to them and moved them to my favorites and it's much better as can organise them easily within favorites.

However ideally I wanted to export these favorites and set them up for other colleagues, but the problem is when I export favorites it only saves the actual html links and the shortcuts to docs dissappear. I know I can manually copy the shortcuts to everyone's favorites folder, but this is time consuming is there anyway to get them exported? I guess not as it is a HTM file

I'd consider SlickRun.

SlickRun is a free floating command line utility for Windows. SlickRun gives you almost instant access to any program or website. SlickRun allows you to create command aliases (known as MagicWords), so C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe becomes MAIL.

X for Excel, Myd for My Documents, Ctrl for Control Panel, etc. You get the idea.

Enter a web URL into SlickRun and it will launch your browser and navigate to the specified address. Run multiple programs in a few keystrokes, jot a note, look up a definition... SlickRun is the most natural way to interact with your computer.

Please note, SlickRun is not a "hotkey" program. If you want a program that lets you press some wacky keyboard shortcut (say, Shift + Win + 1) to run to something, you'll want to find a different utility. SlickRun is designed to be far more intuitive than "hotkey" programs-- You shouldn't have to keep an awkward mental list of hotkeys for launching your favorite programs.

Instead, just type whatever's most natural for you to remember; with auto-completion, you'll rarely type more than 2 or 3 characters anyway. Studies have shown that user-defined imperative words are much easier to recall than arbitrary characters like keystrokes.

Your "MagicWords" can be imported, or exported, wherever you like.

IMO, a really great program, and I hate using a computer that dies not have it installed.

You can reduce your shortcuts on your desktop to a minimum.

Thanks Bazza that looks good and will give that a go on my home machine

Problem is though my workplace wont let me install any software here

So don't know if there is a solution
