Help With Font - Can't Find It!

For the life of me I can't find anything that does this:

I'm looking for a font that allows me to type text on a solid background.
For example, I want to write white text on top of a black solid background so that it
stands out and is easily visible on a photo.

I know the old fashioned way (long way) is to create a box and fill it in black and then
write white text over it, but isn't there a font or a way to simply type text and it
automatically is highlighted with a solid back background?

The only fonts I have found is something called: Zilla Slab Highlight Bold but the problem with this
font is that text is see-through or transparent so the text becomes whatever the picture is behind it like an
overlay opposed to a solid text on top of a solid black.

 

I did this using XnView.

Open the image in XnView, click Image > Add Text... and select your settings.

 

If you have Microsoft Office (I use 2010 version) Copy/save picture to pictures-, then copy to Microsoft Word --Insert ---word art---choose white---Click HOME- Click text box-Click Theme colours -choose black- start typing in the now black background, and your white lettering will show on a black background, then pull to where you want to place the text box

 

Thanks, I tried the program....how do I adjust the size of the text/box and alignment? I can't seem to move it around after I added a text. It seems final and uneditable after you place where you want the text.

When you click OK (image post #4), move the mouse to where you want the text and only then click the left mouse button.
The size of the text box is determined by the size of the text.
It's not perfect but a free solution to adding text to an image.
