help with IE hoist

hi all i have search the forum and didnt find anything matching my particular problem i seem to have what acts like a worm in some ways its my brother computer so no exactly sure other than his machine is running slower every min did defrag ect its called IE host any info or help on removal i would be most greatfull for

win XP home
2.8 ghz
512 megs ddr

can you give us some background information on what is going on? this way we can direct you to either virus removal or spyware removal..

Hi Kodo thanks so much for all your help it seems as per my brother that avg is reckonizing it as a virus and will quarntee it but when he reboots its back other than that he said he doesn't notice anything

if he's using windows ME or XP,have him turn off system restore and scan again. Please also tell us what virus it is..
make sure AVG is up to date as well.

 

hi kodo thanks for getting back to me i did have him turn off system restore and reboot then run avg ,(its up to date ) the virus is showing up as IE host he puts it quarintene and on next reboot it reapears.
