Help with IE7

Just downloaded IE7 and everything seems fine except when trying to use Messenger like I always have. I used to be able to right click on the messenger icon in the lower right hand corner and then go directly to my hotmail in box. Now it takes me to the hotmail sign in page, says that the password is incorrect and asks for my password. I type the password and click the button that says save password, it goes to my account OK but when I try again later it has obviously not saved the password because I have to go thru it all again???? Any thoughts
