I have sporadically been getting errors where I'm not able to open up folders or play videos from my 2nd internal hdd. Sometimes all I need is a restart, other times it just takes a couple of days and it starts working again. I've ran all the hdd tests on seatools, the samsung software and the hdd looks healthy. What could the problem be? Is it a sign of failing drive in the future or do I just need to change sata cables or something?

Having worked with many hard drives over the years, I have used partition Wizard to adjust a hard drive giving trouble like this, when I managed to make a split a hard drive , and create different partitions, and in so doing, the defective part was then kept within a separate partition, and then used it like that, and it always worked, after that. It could be that you have a similar problem. If you use Partition Wizard, https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/minitool_partition_wizard_home_edition.html
you can actually run the Partition Wizard hard drive test , within the program, and it will show any sectors that will show in Partition Wizard as red squares in the test. If it is at the end of the hard drive, it is possible that Windows cCHKDSK /R will not see it.
I found this post that refers to that possibility. If it is like that in your hard drive, then, you could do as that poster did, and shrink the hard drive ,and it may give you a remedy, but I would consider replacing that hard drive, myself -get as much data off as possible, in case.

Unless exposed to the elements, or rodent or insect activity, cables don't go bad over time. Assuming there is no mouse nest in your computer, you don't have to replace the cable. But you should make sure all data and power cables are security connected.

Thanks, so partition wizard found no errors. I do have 2 of the slots uncovered in the back, so maybe a little dusty but no mouse nests. Aside from making sure cables are secure, anything else I should do/check?
