I am currently working on a windows xp laptop and i have encountered an internet problem. The computer is hooked up through an ethernet cord to my router and it is sending and receiving packages internet and LAN. I have updated the network card driver. But when i try to open mozilla and internet explorer no web pages load... I can access my router settings web page, but no other web pages work. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Are you running Zone Alarms, it isn't compatible with XP and may not even be visible in the system tray. You have to go to the programs list and run "Uninstall Zone Alarms".

Fist lets see if you are getting an IP address
    Start…run…(type) cmd
This will open a window( type) ipconfig to see your IP address make a note of this to post here.
After type ping yahoo.com and let us know the results

Well thanks for your effort of giving me this link. But i do know how to manage my router from past experiences of port forwarding and so on. I already have two computers here at my home running perfectly fine on my router. So i know this isnt a problem with my router. Its just this lap top is having trouble loading the internet web pages for some unknown reason. Im going to take the short cut to fixing the problem and nuke the laptop by re-installing xp. Again thank you for your time.
