help with memory and cpu

i want a little of a performance increase in my system.
i have a 533 fsb processor, running 333 mhz memory
my board supports 400 mhz memory, with upgrading to the 400 mhz memory give me increased performance?

 

Yes only slightly,I dont think you will notice it,post all your specs,that money may be spent better elswhere

If you use the pc for gaming I'd stick a 6600gt in there and leave the memory as it is,how much were you will ing to pay for the memory?

i figured for the price i could sell my 2-512 mb 333 mhz on ebay and make back 1/2 my money and get 5-10% increase in performance for $40 when all is done.

 

You could sell your 5900xt not sure how much for say $60,thats $130 to play with,a 6600gt from newegg is $150,you will see nearly 40% improvement in video performance and have pixel shader 3.0 and the other latest features
