I have an MSI K8N-Neo V2.0 Motherboard (S/N 601-7030-070K0511002770)and I want to add a Hard Disk Enclosure bay to the tower. MY computer has one primary HD with no slave. one DVD burner with no slave. The HD is connected to the IDE1 connector on the MB. The DVD Burner is connected to the IDE2 connector. The last MB I owned I added an IDE port card (Ultra ATA 100 PCI) and had too choose theSCSI option as the first boot in the BIOS boot order, but this MB does not that option. The boot order options I have with this MSI MB are: Floppy, LS120, Hard Disk, CD Rom, Zip100, USB-FDD, USB-ZIP, USB-CD-ROM, Legacy LAN, and Disabled. I also have an option to choose the "boot priority," which currently looks like this: 1) Ch0 M. :WDC WD800BB-00CAA0 2) Bootable Add-in Cards from the "Boot Sequence." I've tried to choose #2, but the computer only boots to the original HD. Since it was so easy to add a hard disk enclosure on my last MB, I assume it is a matter of choosing the correct boot sequence for this MB. Anyone have any Ideas on the boot sequence to choose. I have a new Ultra ATA/133 PCI card ready to install so the enclosure can connect to it.

Im confused here...what has a HD enclosure bay got to do with your mobo?

This should be directly related to the case/tower that confines your hardware shouldn't it?....unless i am totally misunderstanding your post!

If you mean you want to add another hard disk drive to your setup, you should do so by setting it as a slave on your IDE1.
Set your bios to boot from the HD that contains your OS, but in most cases this will be auto detected!

Regards....sorry if im off track here!

I'm sorry if I didn't explain it very well, I tried to give as through a post as possible. I want to add a Hard Drive enclosure bay that will stay in the computer. The reason is, I want the computer to automatically boot to the removable hard drive when it is in the enclosure bay and to the internal HD when the removable is not in it's bay. My last MB had an option to select the SCSI as the 1st boot option in the BIOS but I don't have a SCSI option for this MB. I'm not sure how to make this happen and MSI haven't answered this question. Any Ideas?
