Help with MSHTA.EXE error

Daughters puter all of a sudden will not work. It boots fine, but nothing will open without getting: MSHTA.EXE The exception unknown software exception (Oxc00000fd) occurred in the application of location Ox0119119C Click OK to terminate Click Cancel to debug, if u click OK = it closes if u Click cancel u get: MSHTA.EXE has generated error

I have started in safe mode and can get virus to scan and it finds nothing, cannot get on internet from there tho to check on updates. I also tried to delete her "weatherbug" program from here, because she said she was having problems with it and it says it can't find the install.log

Any ideas??

Lots of problems that relate to this error can be caused by spyware or it could just be a corrupt file.

I would like to suggest you read our spyware tutorial first and if everything appears clean then try the IE repair tool.
