    Hi Everyone:

I have an issue with my PC. I think the Power Supply does not work. But first I will describe what did I do before comming to this conclusion.

I open the case of my PC and I heard that the FAN of the Power Supply was running. So what I did was to check each memory by placing one by one and try to turn on the PC and also did not work. I checked cables to see if they were loose and also did not not work. So I went and I bought a Power supply of 400 Watts and the one that I have was 300Watts. The sell person said that I will not have any issues with the circuit or any component of the Computer. So I place the new Power supply and it turn on the FAN but still does not turn on the PC.

Please tell me what should I do???

    1) Return the power supply and try to buy one that is 300 watts????

    2) Check any other component?????

    3) If I checked the motherboard How Can I do this????

    4) Or open the turn on Botton, should I checked this too????

    I really need help. Thanks

Although the Power Supply most likely was not your problem, replacing a 300w one with a 400w shouldn't cause you any problems.

When you say that the computer "doesn't turn on", do you mean that there is no activity on your monitor?

Can you hear the hard drive spin up?

Are any lights (activity and/or power lights) coming on. (These should be on the front of the computer.)

Are there any "beeps" when you power on the computer?

Can you test the monitor on a different computer to make sure that it is working properly?

    Hi :

    About your Questions:

When you say that the computer "doesn't turn on", do you mean that there is no activity on your monitor?

I meant was my desktop, my monitor does work. It turns on the Fan of the power supply, but the leads in front of the computer and the noise of the hard drive does not sound. It is dead.

Can you hear the hard drive spin up?

    NO

Are any lights (activity and/or power lights) coming on. (These should be on the front of the computer.)

    NO

Are there any "beeps" when you power on the computer?

    NO

Can you test the monitor on a different computer to make sure that it is working properly?

Yes, I already did. And the monitor is fine.

    Thanks Joel
