So here's my problem, and i'm out of solutions. Setup: AMD 3800+, XFX 7600 GT, Gigiram 2GB DDR2 533, Epox nForce 570 SLI mobo. All my stuff is prety much brand new i got it a month ago or so. I installed windows, and then proceeded to insstall all the drivers that came with the GPU provided installation cd and mobo installation cd. I kept getting countless random errors and blue screens all over the place. got to a point where i couldnt even start it up because i would get a blue screen error page on startup. The only way i could get my OS running so that i could actually do things is going into windows under "enable VGA mode" wich i chose on start up. Then it would start and i could play some games, but id still get some random error messages when running games. So i decided to update my drivers. Restarted my computer in safe mode, uninstalled all nVidia drivers, restarted in safe mode again, installed latest nForce chipset drivers, restarted in safe mode again. I Then installed the epox thunderflash utility, flashed my BIOS and updated it to the most current one. Restarted windows normally and everything was working fine. So i then concluded it was something that had to do with the GPU's driver, because ithen installed the latest XFX 7600 GT Driver from the website, restarted, and i got the blue screens again and error messages. I have no clue what to do. I'm back to "enabling VGA Mode" because thats the only way i can run operations with minimal error messages, but thats annoying and i would rather want to start windows normally. Error messages for games like DODS and HL2 come within like an hour of playing and then from then on when i restart the game they happene more frequently. i checked for over heateing and i dont think that the problem. the most my CPU gets is around 117 Farenheit and i even tried playing with the case open and putting one of my own huge house fans next to it and it keeps it extremely cool, but it still has eror messages. Any Help would be appreciated. Below i listed a few of the error log messages, but there are many so idk what to do:

    1. Faulting application rundll32.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module appwiz.cpl, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x000229f8. Event id:1000

    2. Hanging application hpzstw10.exe, version 2.323.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000. Event id: 1002

    3. Faulting application rundll32.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module appwiz.cpl, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x000229f8.
    Event id 1000

for some reason i can't find the error logs for the blue screens, but theyre the ussual "page fault in nopaged area" or "IRQL not less or equal to" and sometimes the occasional "nv4 Disp error".

Here are some eror messages i get with games:

    1. Faulting application hl2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module datacache.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00008a37. event id: 1000

    2. Faulting application hl2.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module datacache.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000b413. event id : 1000

yes i enjoy playing steam based games...

Once again, any help would be appreciated, i tried to provide as much as i can, thanksa gain.

Do you have another GPU you can test in the system?

It sounds to me that the graphics card is causing the BSOD - defective card possibly?

You might be right, but i dont have another PCI-E card to test at the moment. but i'll try that, and if it were defective how long is the warranty for XFX cards? any other ideas also that my stuff keeps sucking?

i think i narrowed it a down a little bit. The error report from microsoft for most of my crashes says its due to one of my drivers. seeing as how the blue screns only come up after i install my video drivers, im pretty sure its the video driver thats causing this. But now the quesiton is what do i do now? is that a defective video card?

Not ness. ...you can boot into safe mode and then roll back the driver for the card ....or see if you can find an updated driver for the card at the manuf. website.
