    Greetings Geeks -

Ever since I upgraded to Win 8.1 I have had bluetooth problems. Everything worked great on my old set up which as Win 7. So . . . .

With Win 8.1 it would connect correctly occasionally. Sometimes it would the sound would be echo-sh and muffled, almost like being underwater. Sometimes the external speakers would turn on as well. Then sometimes neither happened. Windows does indicate the device is paired, but that seems to be useless. So, I uninstalled the hardware and tried again - no luck. This to me is akin to voodoo magic. Frustration all around.

The bluetooth hardware in question includes a BCM920702 Bluetooth 4.0 dongle and SX-907C headset. My OS is Windows 8,1. The sound is the onboard sound device on an ASROCK H81M-VG4 motherboard. The rest of the system includes 8 megs of ram and EVGA GTX 660. I posted this previously, but I am rolling this last-ditch effort for help into a thread for suggestions too.

    Thanks for any help!
