Help with nkvd.us

    I'm verstuken - can't download any spyware to deal with this thing. How do I proceed?

    Knowing a little more about your system would have been useful. Like an OS even.

    Do the below with no Internet connection available (offline and physically unplug cable if you have DSL or CABLE).

    Copy and paste the information in the below quote box to notepad. Save it to your Desktop as type "all files" and name it fix-prefix.reg. Doubleclick it and grant it permission to merge in the registry entries.

    Run Internet Explorer and select Tools, Internet Options and the click the Programs tab. Now click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

    See if you can download anything right now. If so, try to run ALL of READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

    Thank you for responding. I have an HP Pavilion XT958, with a Windows XP OS. I went through the first sequence of instructions down through - "See if you can download anything right now". Here it once again defaulted to "nkvd.us/1507".

    I was able to obtain a HijackThis log, which follows

    I was finally able to get CWShredder. I have followed the suggested instructions and appear to be free of problems. Thank you very much.


    Edit by chaslang: Quoted Inline log delete. Please do not post logs inline and definitely do not waste space quoting them.
