Speaking from personal experience, I'd say get rid of Norton and get a decent AV (lots of choiceS) free or $. Norton was just too much of a resource hog among other things.

Aside from everyones opinion on getting rid of Norton what's to stop different AV software from also detecting the key logger as a virus? I'm not a fan of Norton either but from what I've seen most AV software will in fact detect key loggers so simply switching to a different brand of AV is not necessarily going to solve his problem.

So lets start over here and see if we can help resolve this or help steer him in a direction that will allow him to run the key logger and an AV program.

Ted...can you please provide more information such as operating system, version of Norton you have and which specific key logger you are using?

I figured it would be just a setting that needed changing but without knowing exactly what you were using I don't like to just take a guess...each software has their own little configuration quirks. Glad you got it figured out.:)
