Help with Office '10 and '07

Hi-
I am currently running Microsoft Office 2010 on HP with Windows 7, 64 bit, 4 GB. I am a student and the classes I am taking this semester require Microsoft Office 2007 (the software will not install without it). 2010 was an upgrade from 2007 if that info. is needed.

Basically I want to keep 2010 but need to use 2007 (mainly just Excel and Word). I know there is a way to run both but have no clue where to begin or if that is the best option.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You can definitely run Office 2007 and Office 2010 on the same PC. Since you already have Office 2010 installed, just install Office 2007 as usual, and you will see separate shortcuts for your Office 2007 apps. You might have to show all programs to see them though.

Hi

Don't know if you have installed both as yet but a route to install both is to with the extra version you are installing be that O2007 choose Custom install and then for the location to install the Office version choose a different folder location to install it in say create a folder called Office 2007 in Program Files. This allows you to not gain any issues in having both in the same location.

Also but as you don't seem to be using Outlook, is that you can only have one Outlook version installed at once, so again the custom install allows you to untick Outlook 2007 from installing as OL2010 is much better IMO.
