help with ripping uncopyrighted dvd to wma to edit

    hi, was hoping for some help...i want to edit uncopyrighted dvd movies(adjust contrast, sharpness, audio quality, etc...) i know i need to convert to wma(have windows movie maker) first. my questions are: 1. are there any decent free ripping converting software? 2. is windows movie maker capable of the task? any advice would be great...thanx

    I highly recommend Handbreak it works very well as a ripping utility and can convert to many formats. (http://handbrake.fr/)

    I'm not well versed enough in video editing on PC's (I use Final Cut studio on Mac's) to have an opinion.
