Hi guys! I need your help again. I have had "Hallmark Card Studio" installed for ages with no problems. All of a sudden when I tried to go to the "planner" I got an error message saying that the program has encountered a problem and needs to close. So...I removed the program completely and reinstalled it from the original CD. Everything is working except I'm getting the same error message when I attempt to access the planner feature. That's the only part of the program I really use!! :cry I'm running Windows XP. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

You could try restoring to before the problem started.

Shouldn't reinstalling the program have worked? I don't really know when the problem occurred, I only know when I noticed it.

Not all the time. I speak from personal experience. ( I had a scanner that worked; a windows update broke something and I never managed to get it to operate on that computer again). I installed it on adifferent computer that had never been connected to the internet so was not updated and it worked on there until the day I e-cycled the old scanner (and the computer too).
You failed to mention what version you are running of Hallmark. A windows update might have changed, for example, a dll needed to run the program.

It depends on what's causing the problem. You may have installed other software (including updates) that interfere with this program, or something in your existing software may have corrupted and is now interfering with your program. Restoring to an earlier date is a way to check this. You can always come back to the current setup, whether restoring fixes the problem or not. If it did fix it, you can start to explore what's gone wrong.
BTW, what method did you use to remove the recalcitrant program?

Oops! 1: Typed my post then got called away for a couple of hours (to fix the DVD player, BluRay player, set top box, VCR, TV and probably the neighbour's cat at any minute!), so I didn't see plodr's post. :-o
Oops! 2: Posted previous post under my son's logon. My PC is dismantled at the moment. :-o
